I love senmee's fox! it looks so peaceful. Some of my best drawings have been done when I was in class.

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
These are some of my recent ones from my painting class. The theme is kimono, since I wanted to get some use out of my kimono collection, other than just admiring them. Medium: Acrylic on Canvas. I cropped this one since I dont like the rest of it Its of my sister. All the images are pretty big unfortunately, so I thumbnailed the rest of them so as not to take up too much room on the thread.

I agree I like her fox. It reminds me of Ninetales (although I guess it was a legend before that). Shizu, you've got a real talent for painting! Those all look really good

Thankyou Yes I'm sure the ninetales is an ancient legend or something. I just remembered there was a ninetales pokemon too. I wonder if it just a japanese legend or a western one too.

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
Wow Mikan, your nude is fabulous! you did a great job with the proportions, and also the foot. I love doing life drawing, especially nudes. It's a pity though I dont have time for it much, plus its mostly in the city late at night, and in my hometown we only have classes about once a year. I wanna do more life drawing!!!!
It's a pity you dropped out, would you consider taking it up again?

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
Thanks. It was a training college for becoming a media designer, the art class was only a little part of it. I won't do this again. But I like art classes. The only stupid part about them are the teachers. *sigh*

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
I agree, Shizu and Mikan are really talented. I love the colour and tone in Shizu's work and the shading and proportion of Mikan's life drawing. I don't think the perspective is a big deal in your uni work Shizu although I can understand how artists are usually critical of their own work. Some how the fact that all the lines aren't perfectly straight endears me to the image. If you do anymore I look forward to seeing them.

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
Thanks so much, Mask Identity and Reanimator! My painting instructor said he actually liked the skewed perspective on my uni work one, but I'm still not sure... I'm working on another one right now Ill put it up when its a bit more together.

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
wow shizu those paintings are excellent, really life like, same for your sketch mikan, I wish i could do real life. I just stick with my 'attempts' at doing anime/manga haha. Apparently your suppose to start with real life, then move onto things like anime but im trying at it backwards, im not sure if its really working for me but meh xD This one of my latest artistic endeavors, I don't really practice as often as I should. I produce one of these sort of pictures maybe once every other week or so. There is most more than likely lots of people much better than myself on here. The biggest problem for me is, I find it hard to get motivated to draw. Once i produce something, it takes me a while to get the motivation to do another. Any who, im thinking of doing a series of pictures similar to the above, like a gallery of characters sort of thing.

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
^ Wow, nice drawing of Zaraki, XBlacky. One of favourite characters in Bleach, he's delightfully insane. Everyone's art here is really good. I've started drawing again but I don't think I'll ever be as good as when I was younger. Art in school pretty much ruined it for me.

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
Wow, XBlacky, thats really good! What program do you use? the skin tone is very nice. I'm pretty mediocre with drawing both anime and real-life at the moment. I used to just draw anime style (after just drawing animals when I was a kid) but have since wanted to improve my anime style by learning how to draw real life properly. Also we have to only draw real life in art school, heh. It's actually very hard going from anime style to real life, I always make the heads too big!

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
I used photoshop cs3 . The skin tone was achieved by applying the burn tool with a soft brush on low opacity. I had the same problem at school in my art class, i generally didnt like art at school because even though there was a large level of freedom to what you produced, there was a also almost equal levels of control over what you produced.

Good heavens, Shizu. I hope you're selling your paintings, because they're beautiful!

Re: Post your drawings and doodles in here
Haha, I hope that's not a bad omen. Oh gawd, a flock of ravens just flew into my room and scared my black cat who tripped me, causing me to accidentally shatter my mirror, which rolled under a ladder. Naw, I'm sure it doesn't mean anything.
